We pride ourselves that all of our teachers have had many years of teaching experience enabling us to give the best tuition to each individual that joins the school. Our teachers are all professionally trained & hold many music & dance qualifications between them in a broad range of dance styles. The teachers within the school have experienced having a professional career in the dance industry prior to taking up teaching enabling them to pass on the knowledge & techniques within each of the lessons. Each teacher has been CBR checked.

                 Founder Principal - Dorothy Blake IDTA & UKA (AS.LB.LL.LRR.FF)

 

Dorothy has danced all her life and represented the North West many times on the original BBC 'Come Dancing' series. Dorothy has been privileged to have been a member of the 'English Team' and has won many major championships.......to name a few........... 'The British ', ' The All England ' & the ' North of England Championships '.

Dorothy has been a guest choreographer for both Television and Theatre but her passion is to teach socially with a 'FUN' environment where all of our pupils can feel welcome, relaxed and meet new friends (as well as learning to dance).


                             Helen Blake - BMus (Hons), IDTA & UKA (AF)


At the age of 3 Helen had her first dance lesson & by 5 years old she made her debut performance as the Bride in the Wedding of the Painted Doll'. At 7 years old Helen went on to train and take examinations in drama, voice and dance undertaking up to 9 hours of dance lessons per week in Ballroom, Disco, Freestyle, Ballet, Tap, Modern, Jazz & Theatre giving Helen an extensive knowledge of dance.

With more than 21 years dance training and  over 14 years training drama, Helen's career in dance has enabled her to perform at many leading venues & theatres both in the West End & abroad, such as Sadler's Wells, London Palladium, Edinburgh Festival, Granada Studios, Disney Land, Paris, & Gawsworth Hall.

Along with teaching at the dance school, Helen is also a trained professional singer. Helen graduated with Honours in Opera & vocal Studies from the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama, Cardiff in 2008 and has performed in major open air concerts, theatres, corporate events and weddings across the United Kingdom and Europe. In 2013 Helen started to offer private singing tuition & performance coaching to pass on the skill's and knowledge which she has learnt throughout her singing career.  For more information about Helen please see her website www.helenblake.co.uk
